Washington, DC

Dennis is on the East Coast for a few days. While in Washington, DC, he visited the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial.

I'm not sure which memorial this is, but it's getting a lot of traffic.

Ranch Looking Good

Here are some photos of the ranch coming to life in the spring.

New Mexican restaurant

Mom and I had lunch at the new Mexican restaurant in Alpine. The restaurant is in the same location as Marieta's, which moved out when the power link crew was tearing out the main street in Alpine. Many shops had trouble when customers avoided driving there because of the traffic and general mess.

Can a cat take down a horse?

About 7 p.m. Thursday evening, I looked outside and spied my two horses grazing on grass near the house. Bug, the kitty, was stalking them.

Breezeway

We've made some changes in the breezeway. Not only have we finished the cat house (still needs a coat of paint), but we cleaned up and moved around some of the furniture we had in the breezeway. I like the changes so far. Take a look.

The House of Italy

Today Dennis & I, Mom, and Angie & Gary went to Balboa Park for the Italy open house. We examined the map of Italy and Sicily to locate the cities where our relatives were from. Afterwards, we visited the other houses in Balboa Park and ate an Italian sandwich (either sausage or meatball) in the park. Mom had her picture taken in front of Poland, where her relatives came from.

Dessert

Who else has a husband that can and will make a dessert like this one: a crepe filled with ice cream and topped with whipped cream and berries. Low fat, of course.
