Early Wednesday morning, Mom was taking Honey on a walk and they met up with wild dog, Flash. Honey and Flash started playing as they do and bumped into Mom, who fell straight back on her tailbone and head. She was sore on Thursday and on Friday we called the doctor to see if she should have an x-ray. The doctor said even if she broke her tailbone, there was nothing they could do about it. On Saturday she was feeling even worse so I took her to Scripps Urgent Care in La Jolla. They did an x-ray of and a cat-scan. The x-ray wasn't clear enough to show the tailbone and the cat-scan showed there was no bleeding in the head, thank goodness. They did give her something for pain which helped her fairly quickly, but later gave her a headache.
We finally left the clinic at 5:30, after being there for six hours. I finished the book I was reading on Kindle and started another one. Mom just got tired.

Movie Tuesday
Today's movie was the Bourne Legacy. Spoiler Alert: Jason Bourne isn't in it. But if you like action, there's plenty of it. You'll have to read the review (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1194173/) because I fell asleep in the middle. When I woke up there was a wild motorcycle chase going on in Manila, then the end. Oh well. Maybe I'll catch it again when it comes to the little screen.
Last Friday I went to the movies with my friend Rachel to see Magic Mike. No one wanted to see that movie, so we went together. However, when we got to the ticket counter, the cashier told us that Magic Mike was no longer playing. What? They pulled the movie out on Wednesday. When do they ever do that? I thought they ran Friday to Friday. Oh, well. Instead, we saw Hope Springs (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1535438/) with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones. I love those actors so I'm sorry to say the movie was dull and boring. There was a funny scene right at the end, but they could have started there and forgotten the rest. So sad. Who thought a movie about "middle" age sex and marriage would be interesting. And it's a stretch to call it middle age, more like post middle age. For those of us in it, who would want to watch it; and for the younger set, same story.

Prius is in the hospital
Tuesday I took my Prius to the shop for repair. It just so happened Mom and I were already in town because of Movie Tuesday, so it worked out great. I have a Ford Escape as a rental--it seems big.
Storm
Monday morning (8-13-12) we had a downpour--rain, thunder, lightning and then really strong winds. Look at this:
We got .41" of rain from this storm.
