Fairy Tale Land
The day after Alora's birthday we had breakfast on the boat, then Lorissa drove us to Fairy Tale Land, about 4 miles away. Here are some photos:

Happy Birthday, Alora
Wednesday we took a flight to Sacramento and checked into the Delta King, a former paddleboat now moored as a hotel on the Sacramento River. Dennis's daughter Lorissa and her daughter Alora met us at the boat for a birthday celebration for Alora. Alora turned 4 on January 22. She's already looking forward to being 5.
We had a little bitthday party for Alora following dinner on the boat. Here are a few pictures:

No Movie Tuesday
We didn't go to the movies today. I was too tired after all the company we've had over the past week. I thought Dennis was tired too, but I found out third hand that he invited Mom, Gary, and Don for dinner. He's making Don's signature dish: stuffed peppers.

Bead Annealing
I made some more beads this morning. Some are better, some worse. I decided to try to anneal them in my large glass kiln since I don't have a specialized bead annealing kiln. I got the firing schedule from Mike at Blue Dolphin and set up the kiln for bead annealing. I just checked it and the temperature is not quite cool enough to open the kiln. Maybe later tonight or tomorrow morning for sure.
Tonight we (Dennis, Don, Jimmy, Lilly, Mom and me) are going to Jacumba Hot Springs and Spa for dinner. We may meet Lori and Mark there (they just live across the street). The hot springs and spa was renovated recently by the current owners.

TGIF
It's Friday, a very warm, windy morning so far. It was 61 degrees F at 6 a.m. This is a dry Santa Ana condition--not my favorite. I had planned to go up to the office/craft room to got through some mail and pay some bills. However, there was no internet connection up there. It's ok in the house, but nothing doing upstairs. Dennis is on a plane going to a meeting in Las Vegas, so he's no help. Sigh. I came back down to the house and checked our computers, which are working fine.
My next move after this will be to go to the bead station in the "shop" building and try again to make a bead and keep it warm in a fiber blanket so it won't explode like the last two. Sigh. I only have a little time before I need to pick up Mom and take her all the way to Carmel Valley to see her cardiologist. A very long way, sigh, sigh. We will probably have a couple of stops on the way home.
