We've seen everything worth seeing at the movies and some not worth it. So today, with still nothing worth while to watch, we went to dinner instead. Uncle Johnny had suggested we go the the Spaghetti Factory, a family favorite, so that's what we did.
Mom and I drove down to Rancho San Diego to give blood in the afternoon, then we met Dennis and Uncle Johnny at Johnny's house and drove to the restaurant downtown just in time for the doors to open. We enjoyed an early dinner the way old folks do and then came home.
A nice outing.

Easter Sunday
Dennis and I celebrated Easter Sunday morning by making these black bean chicken cha siu baos. Yum.
Later we are going to Mom's for pasta dinner. We're bringing a cake for dessert.

Bead Shopping!
The guys were out measuring the area for the new garage. This is progress.
Afterwards we ran a couple of errands then went to lunch at La Pinta, the oldest restaurant in Old Town.
Then we walked down the block so I could shop in two bead stores: The Shepardess and Lost Cities Beads. I found a couple of sterling silver bead caps in size 12mm, a hard size to find apparently. I've been looking all over the internet for them. I also bought two interesting looking beads.
It was still early so we drove on to The Black Bead in Point Loma. I found a few very nice lamp work beads there, but no bead caps in the size I wanted.
It was getting to be time to pick up Flash and 50-50 from the vet's, so we headed back on Hwy 8. We didn't get very far before learning there was a 20-car pile up near 70th street. The freeway was backed up all the way from Mission Center to 70th. That took us an extra 30-45 minutes, but we got to the vet in time.
To the vet--again
We have been spending a lot of time (and money) at the vet's lately. The fun continues as I take Flash to be neutered and 50-50 to have her eye checked. They will have to stay at the vet's until 4 o'clock this afternoon. I mentioned to Dennis that maybe he could take part of the day off to go to Old Town for lunch and a little shopping at the bead store. He-he-he.
