Bead Shopping!

The guys were out measuring the area for the new garage. This is progress.

Afterwards we ran a couple of errands then went to lunch at La Pinta, the oldest restaurant in Old Town.

Then we walked down the block so I could shop in two bead stores: The Shepardess and Lost Cities Beads. I found a couple of sterling silver bead caps in size 12mm, a hard size to find apparently. I've been looking all over the internet for them. I also bought two interesting looking beads.

It was still early so we drove on to The Black Bead in Point Loma. I found a few very nice lamp work beads there, but no bead caps in the size I wanted.

It was getting to be time to pick up Flash and 50-50 from the vet's, so we headed back on Hwy 8. We didn't get very far before learning there was a 20-car pile up near 70th street. The freeway was backed up all the way from Mission Center to 70th. That took us an extra 30-45 minutes, but we got to the vet in time.

To the vet--again

We have been spending a lot of time (and money) at the vet's lately. The fun continues as I take Flash to be neutered and 50-50 to have her eye checked. They will have to stay at the vet's until 4 o'clock this afternoon. I mentioned to Dennis that maybe he could take part of the day off to go to Old Town for lunch and a little shopping at the bead store. He-he-he.

T.R.O.T.

Joyce and I trailered up to Laguna this morning. It was a beautiful day until the wind picked up, then it got cold. Still we had a good ride. Doc was great on the way out, but for some reason acted up a little when we turned around. Joyce's horse, Cassie, is not a leader, so Doc got that duty today. Cassie acted out a little, too, when she was in the lead. She stopped dead on the trail and refused to go forward. When Joyce got after her, she lifted up in front a little. Not good. All in all, though, we had a good ride and arrived back at the trailer all in one piece. Yea.

Cats

Since we got Flash, the cats have vacated the breezeway. We lost Jacuzzi and I've been looking for the others. Today I saw all three outside cats: Peaches, Smokey and Bob-b. Maybe they'll start coming into the breezeway again. It's a lot safer there at night.

Movie Tuesday

Today we saw Mirror, Mirror, the story of Snow White, somewhat altered. Julia Roberts was the Wicked Queen. It was cute.

Jacuzzi

I called the vet today...Jacuzzi didn't make it. It's so sad. All of our animals (except Flash) are getting old. We have three outdoor cats left: Bob-B, Peaches and Smokey. I saw Peaches this morning and Bob-B in the garage on Wednesday. I haven't seen Smokey in a while.

The cats have more or less vacated the breezeway since Flash moved in. The breezeway afforded them protection at night. That's probably why Jacuzzi got nailed.

She was a very pretty calico cat and the mother of several kittens.

I see stars

I looked up at the night sky as I was leaving Mom's house last night and almost straight up were the two planets in the news lately: Venus, the bright one, and Jupiter, both in line. I took a picture with my iPhone.
