Movie Tuesday

Finally,,,a really good movie. We saw The Help, which was just as good as the book. The theater was filled with women including a whole row of what was probably a book club. Everyone applauded at the end. The movie was not just for women either--Dennis loved it.

Craft Room Clean-up

I didn't have a riding lesson today, so I spent the entire day cleaning my craft room. I got rid of two big plastic boxes worth of stuff I never want to see again. No, I didn't throw anything out--it all went to the storage container. If I'm lucky, someday someone will just haul off the container with all the stuff stuffed in it.

Movie Tuesday

This is getting embarrassing. Again, no movie on Movie Tuesday. Nothing, nothing, nothing we want to see. Hollywood, get with it.

Instead, Mom and I are taking the Prius to Toyota Service so they can make that "Maintenance Required" notice disappear from out navigation screen. I called to make an appointment and the guy said no appointment was necessary, just come in--we have coffee, doughnuts, etc. Can't wait to service my car. How weird is that?

House Concert

Yup, you heard me ... house concert. We have a long-time friend who is a great guitarist. He agreed to perform at a house concert so we had one at our house on Saturday. Wow, it was great. We had the event catered for about 25 people. We started with eating some delicious finger food for about an hour, then Chris played for 45 minutes, then we had a break for dessert, then he played for another 45 minutes. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening. I know we did.

Movie Tuesday

Where are all the good movies? Today we saw Cowboys and Aliens. Wish I could describe it, but I fell asleep in the middle. I'm waiting for The Help to come out. At least I know the book was good.

Craft Show

I feel like an elf. For the last month I've been making jewelry, fused glass barrettes, bused glass handles for serving ware--all for the annual Pine Valley Days Craft Show. My friend Betsy and I put two booths together for all the stuff we've made in the past year. It was a fun day until about 2:30 when a monsoon swept in and got us all soaked in about 3 seconds. We threw everything into boxes and packed up to go home. Except for the mess, that was fun, too.
