Day 3 - The Vet Comes

Pumpkin and Peanut seem to be getting along very well. Today, the vet came to look at their teeth and give them a once over.

Turned out they needed their teeth floated--no surprise. They got their vaccinations, too. They vet thinks Pumpkin is in her late 20's, maybe 28 or so. Peanut is probably in her 20's, too. If Peanut is Pumpkin's daughter (they look so much alike), the vet thinks Pumpkin must have been around 3 when she had her, they are so close in age.

Both of these horses are flea-bitten grays. Gray horses are more susceptible to malanomas. Peanut has a great many of them. The only thing to do is to watch her. If a malanoma seems to be compromising her life, then we will have to do something.

Here is Pumpkin getting her teeth floated. She is leaning because of the sedation.
