Mini-Date

Dennis and I had another mini-date today. He picked me up at the hair salon where I spent most of the morning getting my hair to behave. We drove to Little Italy and were surprised to see they were blocking off the streets for an event this weekend...an art exhibit, I think.

We bought some cracked olives and cookies at Filippi's, then drove to Seaport Village for lunch at the Greek Islands Cafe. Then we walked around for awhile and had a child's portion of Ben & Jerry's ice cream for dessert--all we could afford monetarily and calorically.

No Trot on Thursday

The rain finally made an appearance on Thursday, so no trail ride. It was raining or cloudy and windy most of the day. I spent most of the day beading

It was supposed to rain today (and tomorrow) but it hasn't materialized as yet. It was warm and muggy, but that doesn't count as rain. We'll see if it rains tomorrow.

Mom invited us over for dinner tonight. She made stew, one of my favorite comfort foods. Dennis snuck in some bakery goods from D-Z Akins. He bought 3 giant ($4 apiece) chocolate eclairs and a baklava roll. We each had a half of an eclair and a third of the baklava. Needless to say, we are stuffed.

Movie Tuesday

Today we saw The Lucky One (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1327194/), from the Nicholas Sparks novel. It was a very nice romantic story about a marine in Iraq who finds a photo of a woman and, when he gets out of the military, sets out to find her, believing she saved his life.

We all enjoyed the movie and recommend it.

Today I made two trips into town: First, I had an appointment for an eye exam (no change from last year), then I drove home and later drove into town again with Dennis and Flash in the big truck. We went to Lowe's in Santee to buy a new mower-tractor. Our old tractor finally bit the dust after 19 years. Pretty good for a Sears tractor.

Bead Show

Dennis and I went to the Bead and Gem Show in Mission Valley today. It was interesting, but I only found a few items to buy.
We had a great time at Night of the Horse. Here are some pictures. The show Master of Ceremonies was Bo Derek, who was of great interest to our friend, Greg.
