Movie Tuesday

The Imitation Game--what a good movie! The star, Benedict Cumberbatch. (no I didn't make that up) won a Golden Globe as best actor for his role in this movie. He played Alan Turing, the mathematician who tried to decipher the messages sent by Germans in World War II using the Enigma machine. This is a must see movie.

You're always a day away ...

That's right, we saw Annie today with Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhane Wallis (Annie). Quvenzhane first starred as Hushpuppy in Beasts of the Southern Wild. She was adorable. She's still cute in Annie, but a bit older.

We enjoyed the movie but it wasn't the best one we've seen. The critics panned it, but it is okay as a kid's movie. A little less so for adults, but there's always the music.

Should you go see it? Mmmm, maybe wait for the DVD.

A customer asked me to make a chain for her pendant. I worked on it today and this is it:

Company for Dinner

We had company for dinner today...Gary and Carolyn Goldfarb ... and Mom, of course. Dennis made paella and green beans and I made a salad with strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges and walnuts. For dessert, Dennis made individual pavlova (meringue and fresh fruit) with whipped cream. The entire dinner was delicious and we had a lot of fun. I forgot to take pictures.

Christmas Wrap Bracelet

Just finished this wrap bracelet. I was making it for Christmas, but didn't get it done in time. Ready for next year though.

Clean up day

Now it's time to put the house back in order as much as possible considering we have a plywood wall on the north side of the living room and construction is going on beyond.

First thing is to go through the Christmas cards we received and check our list to be sure we haven't missed anyone. The Xmas List was all messed up because of changes to the server, so I had to recreate it using a new database which probably isn't correct. I found two people who didn't get a Xmas letter because they weren't on the list. Yikes!

Unless they corrupt the database again, we are set for next year. I hope no one moves.

Every year we receive comments from friends who love the newsletter, so I guess I'm stuck. I'm going to try to do something interesting this year so I'll have something to write about.

Vivian is coming over today to help me clean the house. Yea.

Good-bye Christmas

Started off the day going to physical therapy for an hour of torture. When I got home, I started in on taking down Christmas. Thankfully, there wasn't very much to do. I didn't put up all the decorations this year either on the tree or in the house. It only took an hour and a half to get everything put back in boxes for next year. Tomorrow will be cleaning day.
